Using Language Codes

When using TranslateMate commands, you can specify languages using either:

Full language name: German, French, Japanese
ISO 639-1 code: DE, FR, JA

Examples

/translate target-language:German text:Hello world
/translate target-language:DE text:Hello world

Both commands produce the same result!

Regional Variants

Some languages have regional variants with specific language codes:

English: EN-GB (British), EN-US (American)
Portuguese: PT-BR (Brazilian), PT-PT (European)
Chinese: ZH (Simplified)
